Clockhouse Girls storm into the next round of the cup!

After an agonising defeat with just 36 seconds left in extra time for the boys football team earlier in the week, the girls looked to end the week with some cup success.

Clockhouse travelled to Scotts who the girls had managed to beat earlier in the league season. Despite the earlier victory Mr McGlinchey had the girls motivated for the game, after all we all know what can happen in cup games.

Clockhouse were in no mood to mess around and were in the lead within minutes of kick off when a powerful run and a ferocious right food shot from Paris K flew into the top corner giving Clockhouse the lead.

This set the tone for the half as Clockhouse bombarded the Scotts goal and were unlcky not to strengthen their hold on the game with Sophie L going close and Gracie H hitting the woodwork. After a dominating midfield performance Gracie finally bagged herself a goal just before the end of the first half.

With Clockhouse dictating the speed of the game it was a great opportunity to hand a debut to Rameen S and an on pitch debut to Demi B from year five.

In the second half the Scotts goal was under pressure again and Paris K doubled her tally for the day and ended any chance of a Scotts victory.

Final Score Clockhouse 3 - Scotts 0

Clockhouse march on to the next round of the cup.

Player of the Match: Gracie H

Netball success

On Wednesday evening Clockhouse took a mixed side to play a mixed Towers side. We share good links with Towers Junior School through our club link with Marshalls Netball Club. A really impressive display from Clockhouse saw Mr Yarrow have opportunities to try many players in many positions.

Maddie C and Nikolay both made good starts on their first sports appearances for the school, managing to both score once.

Most impressive for the onlookers was the Clockhouse defence who ensured Towers were limited to just one shot in the whole game. Credit must go especially to Charlie B and Atiya R. The scoring was completed by captain Gracie H who grabbed herself a brace, whilst player of the match Hayden M got himself a hat-trick of goals, the final basket went to Atiya R giving Clockhouse an eight nil victory.

It is great to see the schools strength in depth with netball and also how bright the future is with some great performances from the year four and five!

IMPORTANT news regarding School Dinners and Drinks

Please be aware of this very important letter that came home last week. Please note that as of Tuesday the canteen will no longer be able to take School Dinner tickets or cash for the payment of school dinners and drinks. All payment will be online. There will also no longer be the snack trolley in Key Stage 2 at breaktime. If your child wishes to have a snack, please send them in with fruit or vegetables.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Clockhouse Remembers...

At 11am today, everything came to a stand still. As Big Ben chimed all the children and staff stopped what they were doing to remember. The children showed great maturity and respect and they sat in silence to reflect. We were all very proud of them.

This also saw the end to our Best of British week with each class taking part in their very own Clockhouse 'Street Party'. The children all had a great time as did the staff celebrating all that is good about living in Britain and being British.
